From Texas-sized 2 Tiny House For Three
When I look through the news feed on our Facebook accounts, I’m struck by the wildly varying nature of what folks post and how they represent themselves:
Super liberal. Ultra conservative. LGBTQ friendly. DOMA supporters. NRA members. Gun control supporters. Environmentalists. Climate change denialists. Parents. Singles. College kids. Retirees. Financially stable. Un/underemployed. Religious. Agnostic.
The contrasts and comparisons go on and on…
You know what ties us all together (besides being human beings sharing our little blink of existence on Earth)?
I’ve never in my life seen a more diverse group of people who, no matter their background or particular reasons for doing so, all share such an interesting and rather unusual bond as that which is the love of all things tiny house and tiny living.
It’s inspiring. It’s encouraging. It gives me hope in our future as a species!
Deep thoughts for a Monday, I know, but after meeting so many wonderful new people interested in the tiny house lifestyle and all its incarnations over this weekend at our two open houses – no matter their definition or motivations as such – I can’t help but feel both honored and blessed to call myself – ourselves! – part of this amazing movement. No matter where we come from or where we are going, we all share the unique “DNA” of the tiny house enthusiast.
I’ve never felt more human than I do today, and I thank each of you personally for that.
