From Texas-sized 2 Tiny House For Three
Our little man turned 3 years old today, and we got our 380th follower on FB, too! We still have a long way to go with our build, but it’s fun knowing others are following along with us on our journey. R.A.D had a great time at a local park with an amazing wooden playground surrounded by his friends and family, but it was this photo of him poking lily pads with a stick in my dad’s backyard that sums up our day perfectly: relaxing.
My mother’s presence was sorely missed during the festivities, and the first anniversary of her death is just a few short days away. Her loss is what lit the proverbial fire under our butts to stop surviving with too much stuff and too much debt so we can really start living the lifestyle we dream of. I miss her every single day, but I know she’d be proud of all that we have and will continue to accomplish. She definitely would have never lived in a tiny house herself, but she’d approve of our motivations nonetheless.
It certainly hasn’t been an easy transition downsizing by about 90% and moving in with my dad while juggling Brandy and R.A.D’s school schedules with Dad’s and my work schedule while still paying part of the mortgage on the Big House and finding enough funds to work on the Tiny House, but it’s getting easier bit by bit. I so look forward to the day we can all flop down on our bellies to poke lily pads in a pond for hours at a time, and I know our short term adjustments and budget stretches will produce the long term debt reductions and freedom to travel we so crave. For now, we’re just grateful to live and be loved and be fortunate enough to have our special little man to share our adventures with.
Thanks for joining us on this grand, tiny adventure. ❤
